JK Government Forms Fact-Finding Committee to Investigate Irregularities in Power Fencing System Installation in Jails
The government has established a Fact-Finding Committee, led by the Director General of Police (DGP), to investigate irregularities in the supply and installation of the Power Fencing System across ten jails in Jammu & Kashmir. The committee comprises members such as the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, and FA/CAO, Home Department.
The committee’s mandate includes a comprehensive examination of the case, reviewing actions taken by Prisons Department officers/officials during the issuance of the Supply Order, and assessing the process followed for allotting CMC/AMC Contracts, particularly in deviation from tender terms and conditions. Additionally, the committee is tasked with assigning responsibility for any acts of omission and commission by Prisons Organization officers and officials.
The committee is expected to submit its report, along with recommendations, to the government within a period of 30 days. The investigation aims to shed light on any irregularities and ensure accountability for the proper execution of the Power Fencing System project in the specified jails.
