Indian passport holders have witnessed enhanced global mobility, with the latest Henley Passport Index ranking India’s passport at 80th globally. This ranking allows Indians to explore 62 countries without the hassle of a cumbersome visa application process. The Henley Passport Index, based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), is a widely recognized tool for passport-related insights.

The destinations accessible to Indian passport holders without pre-travel visas include Angola, Barbados, Bhutan, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde Islands, Comoro Islands, Cook Islands, Djibouti, Dominica, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Indonesia, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kiribati, Laos, Macao (SAR China), Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Micronesia, Montserrat, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niue, Oman, Palau Islands, Qatar, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Saint Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe.

This positive development reflects India’s growing global influence, opening up opportunities for its citizens to explore diverse cultures and landscapes without the bureaucratic hurdles of visa applications.

While India ranks 80th, six countries share the title of the world’s most powerful passport, granting visa-free access to 194 countries. France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain lead the list. In contrast, Afghanistan holds the lowest spot, with access to only 28 countries without a visa, followed by Syria, Iraq, and Pakistan with limited visa-free access.
