Motorola’s latest budget-friendly 5G smartphone, the Moto G34 5G, was officially launched in India on Tuesday, marking the brand’s first product release of 2024 in the country. Boasting a hole-punch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the device runs on a Snapdragon 695 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and offers 128GB of internal storage. The rear camera setup features a prominent 50-megapixel main sensor, and the smartphone is equipped with a robust 5,000mAh battery. Notably, the Moto G34 5G had its initial debut in the Chinese market in December of the previous year.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Moto G34 5G comes with a base variant of 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, priced at Rs. 10,999. The higher-end model, featuring 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, is priced at Rs. 11,999. To sweeten the deal, Motorola is offering a Rs. 1,000 exchange bonus, effectively reducing the prices to Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 10,999, respectively. The smartphone is available in Charcoal Black, Ice Blue, and Ocean Green colors, with the Green variant sporting a rear panel with a vegan leather finish.

Interested buyers can get their hands on the Moto G34 5G starting January 17 through Flipkart and select retail stores. When it comes to specifications, the device ships with Android 14, with an assured upgrade to Android 15 and three years of security patches. The 6.5-inch HD+ display features a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Panda Glass protection. Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 695 SoC, the phone supports memory expansion up to 16GB using unused storage.

The dual rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor, complemented by a single LED flash. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 16-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options abound, with 5G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Biometric authentication is facilitated by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the device also supports face unlock.

Housing a 5,000mAh battery, the Moto G34 5G comes bundled with a 20W TurboPower charger included in the box. With dimensions of 162.7×74.6x8mm and weighing 179 grams (181 grams for the Vegan Leather version), the smartphone offers a compelling choice in the budget 5G segment. As the market sees the arrival of other contenders like the Nothing Phone 1 and the Realme Pro+, choosing the Moto G34 5G will depend on individual preferences and requirements.
