In a concerted effort to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared on Saturday that he personally oversees the daily electricity supply in the Union Territory (UT). Speaking at an event in Srinagar, Sinha underscored his active involvement in monitoring the daily power distribution, gathering feedback on an area-specific basis, and ensuring the swift repair of damaged transformers within a 24-hour timeframe.
Dispelling concerns about power shortages, Sinha emphasized the abundant availability of electricity in the UT. He attributed Srinagar’s remarkable transformation to the dynamic leadership of outgoing SMC commissioner Athar Amir, positioning the city as a role model for other Indian cities.
Commending the efforts of CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited and Municipal Corporation Athar Amir Khan, Sinha lauded the successful transformation of Srinagar into a prime example of urban development. Over the past two years, Srinagar has undergone a significant metamorphosis, emerging as one of the nation’s premier urban centers.
Sinha asserted that Srinagar now stands among the best cities in the country, reflecting a commitment to revitalize the region’s historical prominence. The festive atmosphere at Lal Chowk on December 31 symbolized Jammu and Kashmir’s promising journey toward reclaiming its erstwhile glory, marking a positive trajectory for the UT’s future development.
Expressing gratitude to the citizens for their overwhelming participation in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra program across the Union Territory, Sinha commended their efforts to translate accelerated growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi into inclusive development and a Developed Bharat.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the transformative impact of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on the self-confidence of the poor and marginalized sections of society. He emphasized the collective strength of the people in playing a key role in the saturation of schemes and economic betterment.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to promoting equitable and inclusive development, Sinha stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, welfare schemes and rapid development in all sectors have transformed the lives of the poorest of the poor. He commended the Prime Minister for empowering and enabling the common man to stand on their own feet for sustainable income and quality living.
Sinha expressed pride in what Jammu and Kashmir has achieved in the last four years, with a consistent focus on the economic empowerment of women, farmers, and youth for growth. He urged citizens to access and fully utilize the opportunities the resurgent Jammu Kashmir has to offer.
The Lieutenant Governor assured that the UT Administration is always committed to serving the people with complete dedication and resolving their issues promptly.
