Russia Extends Support to India’s Bid for UNSC Permanent Seat
Russia has openly declared its endorsement of India’s aspiration to secure a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The commendation comes in recognition of India’s adept navigation of contentious issues at the G20 Summit, lauding the country’s deft diplomacy as a “true triumph” of its foreign policy.
Presently, the Security Council comprises five permanent members – the UK, China, Russia, the US, and France – alongside 10 non-permanent members.
India has persistently pushed for reforms within the UNSC to align with the changing global dynamics.
New Delhi has been fervently advocating for its inclusion as a permanent member, reflecting the contemporary realities of the international landscape.
