Kashmiri Calligrapher Sabreena Nabi Achieves Milestone in world of calligraphy , Pens Surah Yusuf on 15-Meter Scroll.
Sabreena Nabi, a 20-year-old from Charar-e-Sharief in Budgam, Kashmir, has etched her name in the world of calligraphy by inscribing Surah Yusuf, along with its English and Urdu translations, on a single scroll spanning 15.5 meters.
Her extraordinary accomplishment earned her recognition from prestigious organizations like India World Records and the Influencer Book of World Records, positioning her among the finest calligraphers globally.
Sabreena’s journey in calligraphy sparked from a love for elegant handwriting, which gradually led her to undertake the momentous task of transcribing an entire chapter of the Quran.
Speaking to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Sabreena shared, “My passion for calligraphy began during my school days. To achieve this feat, I obtained a 15.5-meter-long roll of paper from Delhi, as it was unavailable locally. I meticulously translated Surah Yusuf into Urdu and English on this extensive scroll. The completion of this task brought recognition, and I was honored with awards from various esteemed organizations.”
For Sabreena, this remarkable achievement is just the start of her journey. She aspires to handwrite all 30 chapters of the Quran, demonstrating her dedication and commitment to this exquisite art form.
