Three Drug Peddlers Arrested in Baramula,Including Female Suspect
In their ongoing commitment to eliminate the scourge of drugs from society, the police have apprehended three individuals involved in drug peddling, including a female suspect, in the Baramulla district of North Kashmir. The law enforcement operation, conducted by a team from Police Station Sheeri led by the Station House Officer (SHO) and supervised by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Hqrs Baramulla, resulted in the interception of two men and a woman on a scooty with the registration number JK05-0116 at a checkpoint near Service Station in Kitchama.
Upon conducting a thorough search, the police discovered 776 grams of a substance resembling contraband heroin in their possession. The individuals were later identified as Riyaz Ahmad Ganie (son of Gh Hassan) and Shokeen Ahmad Ganie (son of Ab Jabar Ganie), both residents of Batangi Boniyar, as well as Saleema Begum (wife of Mohd Ashraf Najar), a resident of Mother Sheeri. Following their apprehension, the suspects were arrested and transferred to PS Sheeri, where they currently remain in custody.

A spokesperson stated, “A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Sheeri, and investigations have been initiated to delve deeper into the matter.” The police’s proactive measures underscore their relentless efforts to combat the drug menace and maintain public safety in the region.
