The administration of Jammu and Kashmir, encouraged by a significant surge in tourist arrivals during the ongoing autumn season, has revealed plans to open up previously inaccessible snow-covered areas for visitors this winter. Tourists will be urged to explore the captivating landscapes of snow-laden destinations, including Gurez, Lolab, Bangus, and other areas in north Kashmir near the Line of Control.

Winter enthusiasts can now venture beyond the well-established favorites, as the Kashmir Valley’s winter destinations will include both renowned spots and newly added tourist attractions. Areas like Gurez are being promoted as emerging skiing hotspots for adventurous travelers.

An official emphasized that these locations are set to evolve into year-round tourist destinations, ensuring the availability of all facilities throughout the winter months.”This year, the administration is contemplating a shift in focus towards snow-covered areas.
