Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his deep sorrow over the incident and extended his condolences to the bereaved families. He reassured that the local administration is actively engaged in relief and recovery efforts.

    Amit Shah, in a message written in Gujarati, conveyed his deep sadness and condolences for the irreparable loss suffered by those who lost their loved ones. He assured that the local administration is undertaking relief work and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.

    Weather Forecast and Impact on Gujarat

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates that the rainfall will subside by Monday, although it may continue in some parts of south Gujarat and Saurashtra districts. The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) reported rainfall in 234 out of Gujarat’s 252 talukas, with districts like Surat, Surendranagar, Kheda, Tapi, Bharuch, and Amreli experiencing heavy rainfall, ranging from 50 to 117 mm in just 16 hours. The IMD attributed this unseasonal weather to a cyclonic circulation over the northeast Arabian Sea, affecting the Saurashtra and Kutch regions.
