Delhi Vigilance Minister Alleges Destruction of Digital Evidence in Chief Secretary’s Son’s Case

Delhi Vigilance Minister Atishi has submitted an additional report to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, alleging that ‘digital evidence’ linked to the Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar’s son’s company, MetaMix, and their dealings with the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) are being destroyed. This claim follows her previous allegations against the Delhi Chief Secretary, accusing him of unduly favoring his son, Karan Chauhan, in securing a tender from the Delhi government.

Allegations of Unfair Tender Process and Financial Gains

Atishi’s supplementary report to the CM contains detailed accusations against the Chief Secretary, particularly focusing on the alleged involvement of Karan Chauhan’s company in the development of an AI software for ILBS Hospital without a formal tender process. The report suggests that this arrangement led to substantial profits for the company. Naresh Kumar, besides his role as Chief Secretary, also chairs the ILBS Hospital.

ILBS Hospital’s Refutation and Atishi’s Counter

ILBS Hospital has refuted these allegations, stating that Karan Chauhan holds no relation to the hospital and is not a signatory to any memorandum of understanding (MoU) concerning the matter. However, Atishi’s latest report disputes the hospital’s clarification. She claims that digital evidence, including web posts and social media links related to the ILBS-MetaMix partnership, is being systematically removed.

Specific Claims of Evidence Tampering

The report cites the removal of MetaMix’s official LinkedIn profile and a post about their partnership with ILBS. It also mentions the deletion of a Twitter post from ILBS Hospital’s account dated September 1, 2023, which allegedly referred to the partnership. Atishi argues that these actions are aimed at suppressing facts and destroying evidence.

MetaMix Technologies’ Denial

In response to these accusations, MetaMix Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has issued a statement denying any association with Karan Chauhan, clarifying that neither a stakeholder nor a director or employee named Karan Chauhan is associated with the company. This complex case continues to evolve, with multiple claims and counterclaims adding layers to the ongoing investigation.
