    A devastating fire erupted in a fireworks market in Mathura district’s Raya town, resulting in several burn injuries. This incident at Gopal Bagh ground has put a spotlight on fire safety measures in public spaces, particularly in markets dealing with hazardous materials like fireworks.

    Immediate Medical Response to the Fire

    Chief Medical Superintendent Mukund Bansal reported the incident to ANI, detailing the urgent medical response to the injured. According to Bansal, many victims sustained burn injuries and were immediately rushed to the emergency department for treatment. However, the total number of casualties and the extent of injuries remain uncertain as the situation is still unfolding.

    Extent of Damage and Casualties

    So far, reports indicate that 13 individuals have been admitted to the district hospital, with 10 needing further treatment in Agra. The fire has caused widespread damage, completely destroying the fireworks market and several vehicles. The severity of the incident is evident from the on-site visuals showing the extensive destruction caused by the blaze.

    Delayed Emergency Services and Local Reactions

    Local residents expressed their concerns about the delayed response of emergency services. One individual, in particular, pointed out to ANI that the fire brigade had not arrived at the scene even an hour after the fire began. Additionally, it was claimed that there had been no fire brigade presence in the area since the day before the incident. Despite continuous efforts by the police department, the lack of immediate ambulance services was noted, with locals resorting to using private vehicles to transport the injured to hospitals.
