Rahul Gandhi Advocates for Caste Census and Inclusive Governance

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasized the need for a caste census, proposing it as a solution to address the country’s unemployment issue. During a rally in Madhya Pradesh, he argued that understanding caste demographics could lead to more equitable government employment distribution.

Promise of Economic Support to Farmers and Shopkeepers

Rahul Gandhi pledged that a Congress-led government would focus on the economic empowerment of farmers, laborers, and small shopkeepers. He assured that the party would cancel the debts of 27 lakh farmers, positioning them as the cornerstone of the state’s development.

Questioning Representation in Government

Highlighting the alleged disparity in the representation of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) within the central government, Gandhi scrutinized the current administration’s claim of being OBC-friendly. He questioned the proportion of OBC officials among the senior ranks managing the government alongside PM Modi.

Inclusion in Governance Reflecting Social Demographics

Through his interactions during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Gandhi observed that a significant portion of the unemployed belonged to OBC, Dalit, or Adivasi communities. He argued that these groups should have proportional representation in governance, aligning with their population percentages to ensure inclusivity.

The state of Madhya Pradesh is poised for legislative elections on November 17, with the vote count scheduled for December 3. This electoral process will determine the composition of the legislative assembly across 230 constituencies.
