BREAKING: Iran Says Diplomacy With US Remains Possible, Abbas Araghchi Demands Guarantees

TEHRAN, October 29, 2026 (VoM News): Amid the renewed tensions began, as the United States hinted off the fresh Iran strikes, Tehran has weighed on diplomatic efforts to ease the ongoing conflict.

Regarding this, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi indicated that diplomatic efforts to end its war with the United States remain possible, but stressed that any agreement must address Tehran’s demands and include firm guarantees against future violations.

“If Washington demonstrated a genuine commitment to rebuilding trust and reaching a fair solution, Tehran was prepared to give diplomacy another chance”, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.

“Iran is prepared to give diplomacy another chance if we see strong evidence of a sincere desire by US to build trust & reach a just solution,” Araghchi said.

Though, pushing for the diplomatic resolution, he warned that choosing military confrontation over negotiations would lead to a greater strategic failure for the United States.

The remarks come as regional mediators discuss proposals aimed at ending the conflict, including a reported seven-day plan concerning the Strait of Hormuz.

An Iranian official told Al Jazeera that Tehran’s priority was securing its demands rather than rushing towards an agreement.

Given the deep mistrust between the two sides, Iran also wants reliable assurances that any interim or permanent arrangement would be honoured.

Iran has recently held discussions with Qatar, Russia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, although details of those talks have not been publicly disclosed.

The diplomatic efforts come amid continuing tensions between Washington and Tehran, with regional countries seeking a negotiated settlement to prevent further escalation.
