US Military Ready for Fresh Iran Strikes Within 96 Hours, Report Says
WASHINGTON, October 28, 2026 (VoM News): US forces deployed in the Middle East could launch major military operations against Iran within 96 hours of receiving an order from President Donald Trump, CNN reported, citing two US officials.
According to the report, sufficient American military assets are already positioned in the region to carry out an attack. However, Trump has not made a final decision on whether to authorise fresh strikes.
US military planners are reportedly preparing options that extend beyond limited attacks on Iranian radar systems, missile launchers and other military assets. Potential targets could include energy infrastructure, military installations and nuclear facilities.
Officials familiar with the planning believe a decision could come before the end of the year, although the period following the US midterm elections is viewed as a possible window for action.
The preparations come amid intelligence concerns that Iran and Yemen’s Houthi movement could retaliate against American personnel and facilities if Washington or Israel launches another attack. Such retaliation could potentially extend beyond the Middle East, CNN reported.
An October 23 intelligence memo reportedly warned that Iran had intensified efforts to target US personnel, with alleged plotting activities reaching advanced stages in the Middle East and other countries.
Meanwhile, Israel has reportedly sought US support for renewed strikes on Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office dismissed as “fake news” a report claiming he had pushed for a joint attack before the elections.
Israel is also preparing for possible coordinated military action while facing concerns over its supplies of defensive missiles and the prospect of Iranian retaliation.
The Pentagon said its role was to develop and execute military options ordered by the president.
