YouTube Down in US? Thousands Report Video Streaming Problems, Youtube Team Working to Resolve
SAN FRANCISCO, October 28, 2026 (VoM News): YouTube has acknowledged technical issues affecting users’ ability to stream videos and load content, saying its team is working to resolve the problems.
The video-sharing platform confirmed the issue in a post on its official X account, stating, “Confirming we’re aware and working to fix this.”
Reports of disruptions surged on Downdetector, a service that tracks online outages, with more than 24,000 users reporting problems at the peak of the disruption.
Users reported difficulties accessing videos on both YouTube’s desktop website and mobile applications. However, the impact appeared to vary by region, with some users continuing to access the platform normally.
The disruption also reportedly affected other Google services, including YouTube Music and Google Search, although the extent of the impact across these platforms remained unclear.
Meanwhile, Google’s official Workspace Status Dashboard showed its listed services as operational, despite reports from users experiencing difficulties with some Google platforms.
YouTube had not provided a detailed explanation for the disruption or announced a confirmed timeline for restoring normal service in the information available at the time of reporting.
The company’s acknowledgement followed a sharp increase in user complaints, as affected viewers reported problems accessing content and streaming videos.
