Raman Singh Appreciates BJP’s Comprehensive Chhattisgarh Election Manifesto
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and BJP national vice president, Raman Singh, expressed his appreciation for the comprehensive poll manifesto unveiled by Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. Singh emphasized that the manifesto caters to the diverse sections of society, lauding the efforts to meet various expectations and needs.
A Vision of Development and Welfare
The BJP’s election manifesto, titled ‘Modi ki Guarantee 2023,’ outlines a vision of development and welfare for Chhattisgarh. Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed the commitment of the double-engine government to transform the state into a fully developed region over the next five years if elected. The manifesto presents a range of promises aimed at addressing key challenges and fostering growth.
Key Highlights of the Manifesto
The ‘Modi ki Guarantee 2023’ manifesto includes several significant promises for the people of Chhattisgarh. Notable commitments encompass agricultural initiatives, such as the Krishi Unnati Yojana, which ensures the purchase of 21 quintals/acre of paddy at an MSP of Rs 3,100. It also introduces a financial aid program for married women, the creation of government job opportunities, and the construction of 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Furthermore, the manifesto aims to provide tap water to every household in the state, offer grants to landless farmers, and establish more Jan Ausadhi Kendras.
A Resolute Vision for Chhattisgarh’s Progress
While unveiling the manifesto, Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed a strong resolve to make Chhattisgarh a fully developed state within five years. He emphasized that this vision is not just a manifesto but a letter of faith, a pledge, and a commitment to the people of Chhattisgarh. Shah underlined the potential for comprehensive development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi but pointed out that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel might be a significant obstacle to progress.
Addressing Law and Order Challenges
Shah criticized the Chhattisgarh government’s performance in maintaining law and order during its five-year tenure. He argued that the government had failed to fulfill the promises it made before coming to power and highlighted the security issues that the Centre had addressed instead. Shah’s statements reflect a strong pitch for the BJP’s commitment to ensure law and order and promote the development of the state.
The Chhattisgarh Assembly elections are scheduled in two phases on November 7 and 17, with the counting of votes set for December 3. In the previous elections in 2018, the Congress secured 68 of the 90 seats and garnered 43.9% of the total votes, while the BJP won 15 seats.
