Pentagon Is Covering Up Iran War Costs and Damages, Says US Democratic Senator Chris Murphy

Washington, October 08, 2026 [VoM News]: As the United States-Iran war shows no signs of ending, losses and damages continue to be reported in terms of military equipment, human lives and infrastructure.

Regarding this, United States Democratic Senator Chris Murphy has accused the Department of Defense of concealing the damages, costs and failures of the war against Iran.

Murphy made these remarks during an interview with CNN, following the denial of access to United States military facilities in the region.

Murphy added that officials described the access as unsafe, although he had previously visited United States military positions in Iraq and Afghanistan during active fighting.

He further stated that he was granted access to inspect the damage at the embassy, which he found to be extensive. However, he was not briefed about the damage by Defense Department officials, raising suspicions of a possible “cover-up.”

He further claimed that if the attacks on the US Embassy had occurred during the day, the damage and loss of American lives could have been significantly greater.
