Yemeni Armed Forces Carry Out 1,122 Military Operations Against Houthi Targets, Kill 1,747 Houthi Militants

ADEN, October 5, 2026 [VoM News]: As per VoM sources, Government-aligned Yemeni armed forces on Monday reported conducting 1,122 military attacks against targets held by the pro-Iranian Houthi militants in several fronts in the country as part of their new offensive to recapture territories seized by the rebels.

Spokesman for Yemeni forces, Majid Abdullah Al-Nuzaili, announced that the attacks targeted the enemy artillery bases, rocket-launching sites, defensive fortifications, reinforcement corridors and command-control centers.

The military operations took place in Saada, al-Jawf, Taiz and coastal fronts through airstrikes, drone strikes, missile strikes, artillery fire and sniper attacks, according to the spokesman.

The spokesman also said that the attacks resulted in killing 1,747 Houthi militants and destruction or disabling of 364 military vehicles, equipment and supply facilities of the rebels. The casualty statistics were not independently confirmed.

This announcement came after the internationally recognized Yemeni government launched a big military operation against the Houthis. Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi said on Sunday that the military operation would help the country retake the territories seized by the Houthis.

The new offensive came amidst an increased violence near Taiz and in other fronts, where the Houthi forces made advances and interfered in one of the main routes connecting Taiz with Yemen’s interim capital Aden.
