Doda Administration Orders Physical Verification of PMAY-G Beneficiaries After Complaints of Ineligible Approvals
DODA, October 4, 2026 [VoM News]: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda has directed the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) to be physically verified by the Panchayat.
After receiving complaints regarding some beneficiaries being sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in spite of not being eligible for it and others being eligible but still not being sanctioned, the DDC Doda has issued an order for physical verification of beneficiaries by the Panchayat.
The complaints about alleged irregularities in the selection of beneficiaries of the PMAY-G have been coming in daily, said an order issued by the Office of District Development Commissioner, Doda.
The order says that some allegedly ineligible beneficiaries such as government employees, repeated cases and some employees of Rural Development Department (RDD) have been reportedly processed for getting housing benefits on the PMAY portal.
Meanwhile, the government stated that complaints were made of some deserving and eligible beneficiaries not being included. Noting the complaints, the District Development Commissioner, Doda Krishan Lal instructed all concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) to do physical verification of eligible beneficiaries Panchayat-wise.
The BDOs have been directed to ensure that beneficiaries sanctioned under the PMAY-G are eligible as per the conditions given in the scheme.
They have also been asked to submit a verification report to the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Doda, within 10 days of the order under which the Panchayat is covered and a copy of the report to DDC’s office.
The order was signed October 3, 2026. The order does not find any beneficiary or official guilty of any allegation.
The physical verification exercise is designed to review the eligibility and to confirm whether there are any mismatch issues with the beneficiaries selected.
