Anthropic IPO Could Rival SpaceX
SAN FRANCISCO, AUG. 23, 2026 [VoM News]: Sources close to the matter, revealed to Bloomberg News, suggest Anthropic is contemplating an initial public offering (IPO) that could rival or even surpass SpaceX’s historic $75 billion IPO.
The company, known for developing the advanced AI system, Claude, is allegedly making plans for a potential public debut by the end of this August. It’s important to note that neither the exact valuation nor the size of the potential IPO have been finalized and could be subject to change based on negotiations with investors, according to the individuals knowledgeable of Anthropic’s plans. Anthropic itself has yet to officially confirm any IPO discussions.
The overwhelming investor enthusiasm comes at a time when the artificial intelligence sector is experiencing a boom. It’s worth noting that just in May, Anthropic secured a substantial $65 billion in funding that valued the company at an astounding $965 billion. Furthermore, OpenAI was valued at $852 billion in March after successfully raising $122 billion, according to Bloomberg News.
Anthropic’s recent performance has been stellar. The company reported more than $11.5 billion in preliminary revenue for the second quarter, a remarkable jump from $787 million in the same period last year. Their revenue run rate is now at a staggering $65 billion, as reported by Bloomberg News, as of the end of July.
Amidst this success, the costs associated with developing increasingly sophisticated AI models are also on the rise. Anthropic has significant agreements in place for massive computing capacity, including one involving SpaceX which could be valued in the tens of billions of dollars for up to three years.
Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan have reportedly been enlisted to help guide Anthropic through the potential public listing. It has also been rumored that Anthropic is considering an offering that would give its founders increased voting power with dedicated share classes.
Should Anthropic’s IPO raise even more money than SpaceX’s record-breaking debut, it could mark 2026 as the most lucrative year on record for IPO fundraising in the United States.
