    Milan, July 23 (VoM News): UniCredit -the second-largest lender of Italy, which first acquired a stake in Commerzbank in 2024 reported better-than-expected first-half earnings on Thursday.

    Citing the strong performance and confidence in its investment in Germany’s Commerzbank, UniCredit raised its 2026 financial outlook also, Reuters reported.

    As per details VoM News gathered, the bank posted a net profit of €2.9 billion for the April-June quarter. The bank’s net profit value surpassed the average forecast of €2.8 billion by the analysts.

    UniCredit stated it is committed to improve its
    2026 income to be well above €11 billion, above or at that level, and its investment in Commerzbank is expected to generate a 15 per cent return, higher than the anticipated return from a planned €4.75 billion share buyback programme.
