₹23 Lakh Cash, Heroin Seized as Doda Police Bust Alleged Drug Network

DODA, Apr 26 (VoM News) — Police in Doda have busted an alleged narcotics network in the Dak Mohalla area of Sadikabad, detaining three persons and recovering cash and drugs during a coordinated operation on Sunday.

The कार्रवाई was carried out under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign, officials said, following specific intelligence inputs about drug trafficking activity in the locality.

Police teams led by Additional Superintendent of Police Mohd Aslam Wani conducted raids at multiple locations. During a search at the residence of Zarina Begum, officers recovered around 85 grams of heroin, commonly referred to as “chitta,” along with ₹23 lakh in cash.

Preliminary investigations indicate the involvement of Zarina Begum and her daughter in the alleged drug trade. Another suspect, identified as Zahir Bhat, has also been detained and is being questioned.

Officials said the operation was conducted under the supervision of SSP Doda Kartik Shrotriya, adding that further raids are underway based on leads gathered during initial questioning.

Police believe the network may have wider links, and additional arrests are likely in the coming days. Authorities have urged residents to share information related to drug peddling, reiterating their commitment to curbing the narcotics menace in the region.
