    Doda, July 20, 2026 [VoM News]: Following the three-day suspension, mobile internet services were restored at 2G speed across Doda district on Monday.

    The internet services were snalled following a firing incident in Bhaderwah that claimed the life of a civilian, which has conflicting statements.

    As per details available to VoM News, the authorities took the review of prevailing law and order situation, and restored the 2G mobile internet services in district.

    While, the Broadband services, which were suspended a day after the mobile internet shutdown, also remained affected during the restrictions.

    The services were snapped after the death of Arif Hussain in a firing incident at Jai, a tourist destination in Bhaderwah, sparking the protests as the victim’s family and local residents demanded a fair and impartial investigation.

    Though, the mobile internet services were restored, but at 2g speed, to which, the users expresses the strong resentment, affecting the online services, facilities.

    Though there are conflicting views, reports on the incident, as it has drawn drawn political attention too.

    MLA Doda East Mehraj Malik questioned the decision to impose internet restrictions across the district and called for an impartial probe into the firing incident.

    Earlier, he accused the administration of shielding those who are responsible.

    Though, the police have maintained that the firing occurred during an operation, while the victim’s family has disputed the official version and demanded an independent investigation.
