59 People Hospitalised In Maharashtra After Suspected Food Poisoning

    Fifty-nine people were admitted at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi, complaining of sickness after eating food from a single stall; all are reportedly stable.

    IGM Chief Medical Officer, Madhuri Panahare, told ANI, “From 11 patients admitted up to 5:30 p.m. Yesterday morning this has increased to 37 and currently 59 patients are admitted to IGM Hospital. All have symptoms such as stomach ache, vomiting, and diarrhea.

     

    They all took food from the same shop. Patients admitted yesterday are getting better. Everyone’s condition is stable.”

     

    The official further stated, “Patients have the same symptoms. They are complaining of stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea.  These all have food from the same shop.”

    Previously, several incidents of food poisoning have been reported in the nation in the past few weeks. Earlier on June 17, 15 children in Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district were taken to the hospital for vomiting and diarrhea after eating street food in a gated community in Thangallapally Mandal. Earlier this month, 12 children from Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district fell ill with suspected contaminated drinking water.
