PTI’s Nationwide Rally: Imran Khan’s Call to Action
In response to a call from incarcerated Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to hold its first countrywide ‘power show’ on Sunday after May 9. The party’s Central Information Secretary, Raoof Hasan, emphasized the directive for ticket holders to rally at 2 pm in their constituencies, conveying a resolute message that PTI won’t concede its space to anyone.
Manifesto Unveiling: PTI’s Comprehensive Vision for Pakistan
Simultaneously, PTI is launching its 158-page manifesto, a comprehensive document addressing major issues in Pakistan. This unveiling aligns with the party’s commitment to transparency and clarity on its stance regarding crucial national matters.
Imran Khan’s Warning: A Call to Streets and Consequences for Non-Compliance
Imran Khan, the party founder, warned ticket holders earlier in the week, mandating their presence on the streets nationwide. Those failing to comply risked the cancellation of their tickets. Despite concerns of potential arrests, Hasan asserted that the leadership was urged to rally without fear, believing that any arrests might even garner sympathy votes.
The backdrop of the event includes the historical May 9 protests from the previous year, following Imran Khan’s arrest, which escalated into riots. Amid the current election campaign, the PTI is navigating challenges, including the loss of its symbol ‘bat’ and ticket holders contesting as independents. Despite these hurdles, the party remains steadfast in its vision, as echoed by Imran Khan’s message during a virtual convention, emphasizing the pursuit of a state akin to ‘Riyasat-i-Madina’ with justice at its core.
