AAP MLA Mehraj Malik Claims Forced Eviction from Delhi Hotel During Election Campaign
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MLA from J-K’s Doda East, Mehraj Malik, who is presently in Delhi for the Assembly election campaign, has alleged that he was forced to check out of his hotel in Jungpura at 1:00 AM.
Malik claimed that the Delhi Police had instructed the hotel management not to allow AAP volunteers to stay.
Taking to microblogging platform X, Malik wrote, “Had to check out at 1 AM from my hotel room in Jungpura. The owner said police have instructed them not to allow anyone from @AamAadmiParty to stay and directed them to remove AAP volunteers immediately.”
In another post, he accused the BJP of political interference, stating, “BJP has fallen to this level now. Even as an MLA, I am thrown out of a hotel in Jungpura.”
Delhi Police officials have not yet responded to this incident.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which contested seven out of 90 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls, has secured a victory only in the Doda constituency, establishing its presence in the Union Territory.
AAP candidate Mehraj Malik won with a margin of 4,538 votes, receiving a total of 23,228 votes in Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections 2024.
