Adherance to CAB and taking vaccine only tool to prevent from resurging 3rd wave:DC Kishtwar
Deputy Commissioner ( DC) Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today held weekly press conference and briefs media on Current COVID Care scenario in the district here.
While addressing the media persons he stressed the people to adhere to Covid Appropiate Behaviour and take vaccine timely and compulsorily as it is the only tool to prevent from resurging 3rd wave of COVID19.
He said that though the number of COVID 19 patients is declining day by day in the district but it does not imply that we should lower down our guard against the virus.
During press briefing he said that there are at present 36 active cases in the district as compared to last week’s 38 cases.
besides he informed that last week 7365 tests were conducted and the the positivity rate percentage recorded upto 03-07-2021 is 0.3%
He informed that during second surge 1846 positive cases out of 1898 positive cases
have been recovered from the virus till date with a remarkable declining trend in positivity rate percentage which is a sigh of relief for Adminisration and public of Kishtwar.
He again appealed not to lower the guard against the Covid pandemic besides regarding vaccination, the DC Kishtwar revealed that, as per the COWIN PORTAL, 99.6% of persons above 45 years of age have been vaccinated so far and for the remaining 200 persons ward wise/ Panchayat wise
teams have been constituted for the vaccination purpose and soon the district will record cent percent vaccination for 45 years age bar.
He informed that Test, Trace, Treat strategy along with Tikka abhiyan are in place and 42 % of the targeted population under the age bar 18-44 years have vaccinated so far.
He further informed that there is only 01 micro-containment zones now where as others have been de-notified with the improvement of COVID free testing.
