CBI Conducts Searches in Kiru Hydroelectric Project Tender Irregularities Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at approximately 8 locations in Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the award of tender for civil works of the Kiru Hydroelectric Project.
The project is being executed by Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL). The searches resulted in the recovery of digital devices, computers, property documents, and incriminating documents, along with cash exceeding Rs 21 lakhs.
The case was registered based on a reference from the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, implicating former officials and a private company in the violation of e-tendering guidelines for the Kiru Hydroelectric Project.
Allegations include the non-implementation of decisions favoring re-tendering through e-tendering with reverse auction, leading to further scrutiny of the decision reversal in subsequent board meetings.”
