Early Morning Accident Sends Shockwaves
In a tragic incident that unfolded in the early hours of the morning, a total of 55 passengers, primarily comprising school and college students, sustained injuries when the bus they were traveling in collided with a truck in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. The accident occurred around 6:45 am, near Desai village, located in the Wada tehsil of Palghar district.
Bus Operated by MSRTC: School and College Students on Board
The ill-fated bus involved in the accident was under the operation of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). It was on a journey that included a substantial number of school and college students. Shedding light on the incident, Vilas Rathod, the Thane divisional controller of MSRTC, remarked that the bus was carrying a significant number of passengers, primarily students pursuing their education.
Collision on Chinchpada-Wada Road: 55 Injured Passengers
At the time of the accident, the bus had a total of 70 passengers on board. Tragically, it collided with a truck that was approaching from the opposite direction on the Chinchpada-Wada Road. As a result of this impact, 55 passengers sustained injuries. Remarkably, among the injured, 47 were students. Fortunately, none of them sustained major injuries or life-threatening harm.
Immediate Medical Attention: Injured Rushed to Local Hospitals
In response to the distressing accident, prompt action was taken to ensure the injured received immediate medical attention. All the individuals who sustained injuries, including the bus driver, were swiftly transported to local hospitals. Following the necessary primary medical treatment, they were subsequently permitted to return home, signifying that their injuries were not of a severe nature.
